Basketball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from AJ Peek and JJ Apathjang

Judge Memorial Catholic suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 75-51 to the Wasatch Academy Tigers. The Bulldogs lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 115-58 score last time.

JJ Apathjang and AJ Peek certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Apathjang went 10 for 18 en route to 27 points and six boards, while Peek posted 12 points. Apathjang is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 14 games he's played.

With the defeat, Judge Memorial Catholic broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10. As for Wasatch Academy, they pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Judge Memorial Catholic has already played their next matchup, a 71-42 victory against Providence Hall on the 5th. As for Wasatch Academy, they will challenge Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wasatch Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Cottonwood likes a good challenge.
