Preview: Hoover Vikings vs. Chaney Cowboys

After three games on the road, Hoover is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Chaney Cowboys at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hoover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.

Last Friday, Hoover strolled past Lake with points to spare, taking the game 41-23. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Hoover has managed all season.

Hoover got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Pringle out in front who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pringle has scored all season. Hunter Hershberger was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Meanwhile, Chaney's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 77-54 walloping at the hands of Ursuline. While losing is never fun, Chaney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while Ursuline is ranked 18th).

Hoover's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Chaney, they bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Hoover couldn't quite finish off Chaney when the teams last played back in January and fell 51-48. Will Hoover have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
