Basketball Game Preview: Calais Blue Devils vs. Orono Riots

The Calais Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Orono Riots at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Calais is headed into Saturday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were beaten by Penobscot Valley 81-19 on Saturday. The match marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orono). They managed a 56-51 win over Schenck on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Riots as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Orono's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10. As for Calais, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Calais strolled past Orono when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 49-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calais since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
