Baseball Recap: Andrews' Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Andrews extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 8-0. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Robbinsville Black Knights. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Wildcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Logan Hyde was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Hyde was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Aiden Garrett was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

As for Robbinsville, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Black Knights fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Andrews since Friday.

On Robbinsville's side, Luke Lovin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Easton Shuler, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Andrews beat Robbinsville by a score of 6-5 on Monday.
