Baseball Recap: Hobart Comes Up Short

Hobart had taken Chesterton down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Brickies came up short against the Trojans, falling 13-2. The Brickies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Connor Kenjic was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hobart now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Chesterton, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Hobart will be playing in front of their home fans against Hammond Morton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Governors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.29 runs per game on average), something the Brickies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chesterton, they will head out on the road to square off against Elkhart at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
