Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs

The Hillcrest Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Rancho Verde Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Hillcrest turned things around against Liberty on Friday. They took down the Bison 71-54.

Meanwhile, Rancho Verde was able to grind out a solid win over Poly on Friday, taking the game 50-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Bears are ranked 401st).

Hillcrest's record is now 17-10. As for Rancho Verde, their record now sits at 19-7.

Hillcrest was taken down by Rancho Verde 69-41 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
