Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Musselman

Musselman won the last time they faced GVCS Broadfording and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Applemen were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Applemen.

The team relied heavily on Taryn Boyles, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hinchman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Musselman pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for GVCS Broadfording, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Musselman will challenge Berkeley Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Applemen are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will head out to face off against Heritage Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
