Game recap: Kosciusko High School Football Team takes down Caledonia

KOSCIUSKO, Miss. - Kosciusko (Miss.) jumped out to an early lead against Caledonia (Miss.) and never looked back on the way to a 42-18 victory on Saturday.

The Whippets put up 14 points in the opening frame. Kosciusko scored on a touchdown run by Jerrell Jackson and a Deavolon Edwards touchdown run.

KHS was up 21-12 at the half after taking the lead on a Edwards touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Whippets expanded their lead to 30 points entering the fourth quarter. Kosciusko scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Tim Wade to Zach Quillen.

Randy Randle played well for the Confederates. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to six on the year.



Edwards stood out for KHS in the win. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

The Whippets got revenge for last year's 28-10 loss to Caledonia with the victory.

In a 4A Region 4 game next week Kosciusko (4-6) takes on Houston, and Caledonia (4-6) will go up against Noxubee County also in a 4A Region 4 game.
