Basketball Recap: Carlson Has No Trouble Against Monroe

Carlson won against Riverview last Thursday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Carlson Marauders took down the Monroe Trojans 54-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Marauders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.

Carlson can attribute much of their success to Matt MacBride, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points and five assists. Tyler Martin was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Carlson and bumps their season record up to 4-4. As for Monroe, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

When Carlson and Monroe next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Carlson will try to stop Inter-City Baptist's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Similarly, Monroe will try to stop Grosse Ile's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
