Basketball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity had lost five straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 7-15 to make it six. They took a blow against the Lake Country Christian Eagles, falling 82-25. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1508th, while the Eagles are ranked 572nd).

As for Lake Country Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-14 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Lake Country Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samuel Foley out in front who shot 63% from the field en route to 13 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. The last time Foley's field goal percentage was this high was back in November of 2025. Dylan Butler was another key player, putting up eight points along with six assists and five steals.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lake Country Christian beat Trinity by a score of 63-28 on Monday.
