Baseball Recap: Lake Wales Find Success

Lake Wales was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Auburndale Bloodhounds by a score of 10-5. The victory continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Bloodhounds: they've now won three in a row.

Melvin Bynes looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Carter Finnell was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Brody Welborn was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Lake Wales was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburndale only posted a batting average of .136.

Lake Wales' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Auburndale, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
