Basketball Game Preview: Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians vs. Stillwater Warriors

The Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians will challenge the Stillwater Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Waterford-Halfmoon was beaten by Mechanicville 77-34. While losing is never fun, the Fordians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 237th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Stillwater was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Saratoga Central Catholic, falling 57-26. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Stillwater's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Waterford-Halfmoon took a serious blow against Stillwater when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 100-46. Can Waterford-Halfmoon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
