Payson faced Scottsdale Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Longhorns came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 1-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Friday.

Maddie Johns paced Payson's offense, picking up four kills. Johns got some help from Madi Plain and her ten assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Payson and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Payson has already played their next match, a 1-0 win against North Valley Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lincoln Prep at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
