East Lansing had won 27 straight games dating back to last season and Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr. did his part to make it 28 on Tuesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Grand Ledge Comets with a sharp 64-44 victory with plenty of help from Torbert, Jr., who shot 54% from the field en route to 21 points and three steals. His evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston (KT) Thomas, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

East Lansing's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Grand Ledge, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. East Lansing is set to challenge their familiar foe Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Grand Ledge will square off against rival Okemos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
