Basketball Recap: Wallace Comes Up Short

Wallace was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 74-42 loss at the hands of the Hitchcock County Falcons. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-23.

Leading Hitchcock County to victory were Madysen Carlson and Raegan Hagan. Carlson almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards, while Hagan on her way to 21 points and three steals. Hitchcock County is 2-1 when Hagan posts 15 or more points, but 7-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiah Johnson, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Wallace's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hitchcock County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hitchcock County beat Wallace by a score of 48-33 on Thursday.
