Baseball Recap: ALA - Gilbert North Comes Up Short

ALA - Gilbert North and Saguaro squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but ALA - Gilbert North had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Sabercats by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this contest were averaging 3.93 runs allowed.

Luke Genet made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Clarkson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for ALA - Gilbert North and nudges their season record down to 16-11. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Saguaro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-11-1.

ALA - Gilbert North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saguaro, they have already played their next matchup, a 16-10 win against ALA - Queen Creek on the 5th.
