Softball Recap: West Potomac Comes Up Short

West Potomac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the South County Stallions, falling 17-7. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Avery Garr made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Driggers, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

West Potomac's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for South County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Potomac will challenge Chantilly at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South County, they will take on Fairfax at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
