Basketball Recap: Hanson Takes a Loss

Hanson and West Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hanson had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the West Central Trojans and fell 91-47. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Trojans are ranked seventh).

The loss snapped Hanson's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-8 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for West Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Hanson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Central, they will challenge Lennox at 1:45 p.m. on March 20th. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Lennox sitting on 12 straight wins and West Central on eight.
