Baseball Recap: MICDS Victorious

MICDS won the last time they faced Lutheran South and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rams came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Brian Gould made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Gould was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Cooper, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Eliyah Powell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

MICDS was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

MICDS' win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Lutheran South, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11-1.

MICDS does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lutheran South, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
