Baseball Game Preview: Keene Chargers vs. Trinity Leadership Tigers

For the second straight game, Keene will face off against Trinity Leadership. The Chargers will head out to challenge the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Keene took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Leadership, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since February 27th.

The team relied heavily on Saul Lopez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Keene is undefeated when Lopez posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alber Kattil, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Keene hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Leadership struck out 12 times.

Keene is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Trinity Leadership, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-9-1.
