Softball Recap: Central Crossing Falls Short of Marysville in the Playoffs

Central Crossing and Marysville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Central Crossing had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 4-3. The Comets have struggled against the Monarchs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Central Crossing saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chesney Mullins, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Central Crossing's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Marysville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6-1 record this season.

Central Crossing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marysville, they will square off against Lebanon on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Monarchs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
