Harrisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Herrin Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 52-48 loss back in January.

Herrin can attribute much of their success to Jared Staple Jr., who posted 11 points and three steals. Staple Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Madox Billingsley, who put up ten points.

Harrisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Herrin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 23-7 record this season.

Harrisburg will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Stevens at 2:00 p.m. on March 8th. Harrisburg will be up against Stevens' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.24 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Herrin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-38 victory against Mattoon on the 26th.
