Basketball Recap: Columbus Christian Starts Season with Win at Home

Columbus Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They breezed past the Living Water Homeschool Marlins to the tune of 61-6. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Marlins: they've now won three in a row.

Columbus Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Murray, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Murray is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Olivia Wise was another key player, shooting 83% from the field to rack up 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Columbus Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Living Water Homeschool's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Columbus Christian will square off against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Living Water Homeschool, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kokomo HomeSchool at 12:30 p.m. on December 13.
