The International Gryphons will head out on the road to square off against the Mooresville Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooresville Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on International, who comes in off a win.
International is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing GEO Next Generation: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that International blew GEO Next Generation out of the water with a 63-26 final score. The Gryphons pushed the score to 48-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.

International can attribute much of their success to Peter Machado, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards, and Michael Kreutz, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. With that strong performance, Machado is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: International was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Mooresville Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 47-43 to Monrovia.
International will have to contain Gresh Warren as he made an impact in Mooresville Christian's last game. He posted 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Warren's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Harrison Craney, who earned eight points.
Mooresville Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for International, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: International has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 23.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mooresville Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
International came up short against Mooresville Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 60-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Warren, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 12 rebounds. Now that International knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
