Basketball Game Preview: Fairlawn Jets vs. Fort Loramie Redskins

Fairlawn hasn't had much luck against Fort Loramie recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Fairlawn Jets will venture away from home to challenge the Fort Loramie Redskins at 7:30 p.m.

Fairlawn is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Saturday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-49 heartbreaker at the hands of Riverside.

Meanwhile, Fort Loramie posted their closest victory since December 7, 2024 on Sunday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Miami Valley Christian Academy, sneaking past 56-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redskins.

Fort Loramie's win came from a few key players Fairlawn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dj Barhorst, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxwell Maurer, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Fort Loramie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Valley Christian Academy only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Fort Loramie has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Fairlawn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Fairlawn was dealt a bruising 45-11 defeat at the hands of Fort Loramie in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Fairlawn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
