Baseball Game Preview: Triton Trojans vs. South Central Satellites

The Triton Trojans will take on the South Central Satellites at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Triton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Triton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past North Judson-San Pierre 4-2.

Drew Bingamon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Triton secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Levi McFarland, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Central didn't have quite enough to beat Boone Grove on Friday and fell 9-8. The Satellites haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Triton has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for South Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Triton came out on top in a nail-biter against South Central in their previous matchup back in June of 2015, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Satellites have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
