Softball Recap: San Jacinto Tigers vs. Garey Vikings
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only San Jacinto walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Garey Vikings 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 7th.
Lauren Ramos looked comfortable as she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, San Jacinto got a big performance out of Izzy Soto, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Soto has posted since back in April of 2025. Abby Flores was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
San Jacinto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 11-5 when they post 11 or more hits.
San Jacinto's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-13. As for Garey, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-13.
Coming up, San Jacinto will square off against Jurupa Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests. Garey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
