East Carteret strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Havelock Rams get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Mariners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Tanner Wade was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Jenkins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Sam Humphries was another key player, earning three runs and three stolen bases.

East Carteret pushed their record up to 22-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. As for Havelock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

East Carteret will take on Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Havelock, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 loss against Dixon on the 28th.
