Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Decatur Central Hawks
The Avon Orioles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They snuck past Decatur Central with a 62-56 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rohan Pearson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Deandre Lott-hancock, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Avon has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Decatur Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will face off against Westfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westfield is on a six-game streak of home wins, Avon a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Decatur Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Plainfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
