Game recap: Christ Church Episcopal High School Football Team beats St. Joseph's Catholic

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Christ Church Episcopal (Greenville, S.C.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as Demetrius Anthony ran for a touchdown with with 5:00 to go in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over St. Joseph's Catholic (Greenville, S.C.) 52-22.

After taking the lead on a Anthony touchdown run in the second quarter, the Cavaliers led 24-13 at the half.

Christ Church Episcopal grew its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. CCE scored two times in the third, including once on a Quan White touchdown pass to Anthony.

Even though the Cavaliers led by 22 points at the start of the fourth quarter, they didn't let up, scoring 14 in the quarter.

The Knights came in allowing just 6.6 points per game this season.



Christ Church Episcopal also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 49-14.

The defeat comes as a step back for St. Joseph's Catholic, which notched a 54-8 victory over Whitmire in its previous outing.

In an A Region II game next week St. Joseph's Catholic (8-1) takes on Southside Christian, and Christ Church Episcopal (9-0) will go up against Whitmire also in an A Region II game.
