Baseball Recap: Chincoteague Has No Trouble Against Holly Grove Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parkside, Chincoteague was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Holly Grove Christian Eagles with a sharp 18-1 win. The Ponies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kent Reed and Landon Easton were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Reed pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Easton tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At the plate, Reed scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Easton scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Garrett Daisy, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Waylen Adams, who scored three runs and stole three bases.

Chincoteague kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holly Grove Christian only managed nine hits.

Chincoteague now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Holly Grove Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Chincoteague will take on Wicomico at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holly Grove Christian, they will square off against Chestertown Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
