Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Alva's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Alva picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over the Allen Mustangs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Goldbugs.

Among those leading the charge was Asia Blackledge, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Adair, who posted two points in addition to eight boards, six assists, and three steals.

Alva was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Allen only racked up seven assists.

Allen's loss came despite strong showings from Kaylee Davis and Kryslyn Stephens. Davis went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and six boards, while Stephens had seven points and eight rebounds.

Alva has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Alva wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 75-34 win against Blackwell on the 3rd. As for Allen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-26 victory against Stroud on the 3rd.
