The Davis Sr. Blue Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Dixon Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Davis Sr. had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Laguna Creek on Wednesday. Davis Sr. put the hurt on Laguna Creek with a sharp 16-8 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaytlin LeBar-Triepke made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last six games. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Davis Sr. got a massive performance out of Gracie Martinez, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave Martinez a new career-high. Molly Roseen also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Davis Sr. always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laguna Creek only posted an OBP of .406.
Meanwhile, Dixon took care of business in their home opener (and then some) last Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Rio Vista a 24-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for Dixon in their matchups with Rio Vista: they've now won seven in a row.
Dakota Gaball made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Gaball was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Emily Morris was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Davis Sr. pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dixon, their record now sits at 1-0.
