Preview: Beaufort Eagles vs. North Charleston Cougars
Beaufort is 3-0 against the Cougars since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Beaufort Eagles will be playing at home against the North Charleston Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Beaufort focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
Last Friday, Beaufort escaped with a win against the Dolphins by the margin of a single free throw, 35-34. The victory was just what Beaufort needed coming off of a 47-16 defeat in their prior matchup.
Beaufort found their leader in underclassman Carson Crosby, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crosby has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Faith Owens, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, North Charleston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Hanahan at home and fell 61-26.
Beaufort's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for North Charleston, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
Beaufort strolled past the Cougars when the teams last played on January 16th by a score of 47-32. Does Beaufort have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
