Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Riverdale Ridge

Riverdale Ridge proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Niwot Cougars. For the Ravens, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Nick Williams was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Niwot, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will face off against Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie View's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Riverdale Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Niwot, they will take on Longmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niwot's pitchers better be ready for this one: Longmont has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
