Soccer Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bassett Bengals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Martinsville of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Elijah Dixon, who's now up to three this season.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-7-2. As for Bassett, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Martinsville will face off against rival Halifax County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bassett is set to take on their familiar foe Mecklenburg County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
