Softball Recap: Oak Harbor Beats Port Clinton for Their Third Straight Win

Oak Harbor extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 13-4 in the process. They never let the Port Clinton Redskins get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Rockets have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Morgan Lalonde, who gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Port Clinton off the board. With that strong performance, Lalonde is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Tatum Baumgartner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hannah Schimmoeller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Oak Harbor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive games.

As for Port Clinton, they now have a losing record of 7-8. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Port Clinton's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Frohne, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those doubles were Frohne's first of the season.

Oak Harbor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-2 victory against Notre Dame Academy on the 26th. As for Port Clinton, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-9 win against Brookside on the 26th.
