Football Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland fell victim to Santa Margarita and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

Among those leading the charge was Madi Lam, who threw for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of her passes. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (165.2). Fiona Agius got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Highland is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Santa Margarita, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Highland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-6 defeat against Hart on the 19th. As for Santa Margarita, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-7 win against Beckman on the 19th.
