Baseball Recap: Beaver Beavers vs. Lowellville Rockets
Beaver had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Lowellville Rockets as the Beaver Beavers made off with an 18-7 victory.
Paxton Grimes made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Grimes was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.
In other batting news, Keaton Heddleston was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. Braxton Hickman was another key contributor, going 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and a double.
Lowellville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaver will square off against St. Clairsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lowellville, they will head out on the road to take on Mineral Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
