Basketball Recap: Academy for Classical Education Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons came up short against the Jackson Red Devils and fell 61-50.

Despite the loss, Academy for Classical Education still got an impressive performance from Bryson Vincent, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. Ace Hatcher was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Academy for Classical Education was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Jackson had a senior duo take command as Nehemiah Jones dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards and Trent Hill had 16 points and four steals. Those 16 boards set a new season-high mark for Jones. Another player making a difference was Zyior Mcdaniel, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Academy for Classical Education's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Jackson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.
