Basketball Game Preview: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers

Penns Valley Area and Philipsburg-Osceola are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Penns Valley Area Rams will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. Penns Valley Area will be strutting in after a victory while Philipsburg-Osceola will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, Penns Valley Area strolled past Bald Eagle Area with points to spare, taking the game 57-42.

Meanwhile, Philipsburg-Osceola was beaten by Clearfield 64-33 on Wednesday. The game marked the Mountaineers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Penns Valley Area has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Penns Valley Area didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Philipsburg-Osceola in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win.
