Basketball Recap: Lithonia Comes Up Short

Lithonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 56-21 defeat at the hands of the Apopka Blue Darters. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 382nd in Georgia, while the Blue Darters are ranked 54th in Florida).

Lithonia's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Apopka, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Lithonia will be playing at home against Towers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Towers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.8 points per game this season. As for Apopka, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Apopka knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Lake Minneola likes a good challenge.
