Basketball Recap: Buffalo Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Buffalo waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 39-26 victory over the Point Pleasant Big Blacks. For the Bison, this counts as revenge for the 45-24 win the Big Blacks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buffalo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Woods, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Woods is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anna Boggess, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Buffalo was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Point Pleasant only posted six assists.

Point Pleasant's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Fields, who had five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Queen, who scored ten points and four steals.

Buffalo pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Point Pleasant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Buffalo is taking a road trip to challenge Scott at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scott has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Point Pleasant has already played their next game (against Shady Spring), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
