Yonkers entered their tilt with Roosevelt on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-30 victory over the Roosevelt Sharks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 37-35 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Roosevelt saw an underclassman step up: freshman Leila Pierce posted 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pierce has scored all season.

Yonkers' win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

The future could be bright for both Yonkers and Roosevelt: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Yonkers will try to hand Barack Obama School for Social Justice their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Roosevelt will look to extend Saunders Trades & Tech's three-game losing streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
