Basketball Game Preview: Anderson County Bulldogs vs. Central Heights Vikings

The Anderson County Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Central Heights Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Heights took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Anderson County, who comes in off a win.

Anderson County took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Humboldt by a score of 57-53 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Meanwhile, Central Heights played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Osawatomie, falling 69-39. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Trojans are ranked 160th).

Anderson County's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Central Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Anderson County beat Central Heights 51-38 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Central Heights' Ethan Rowan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards.
