 Floyd is still looking for their season's first win. They lost  24-8 to the Dora Coyotes on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Floyd of the  18-15 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
  Archer Knox made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Rey Duarte, who  went 1-for-2 with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and a  run.
 Even though they lost, Floyd  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dora only tossed four.
 On Dora's side,  Roddy Neal and  Isaac Jasso did most of the damage at the plate:  Neal  scored five  runs and  stole two bases while going 5-for-5, while  Jasso  went 3-for-4 with six  RBI, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Caden Smith, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
 Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Dora, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-7.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Floyd by a score of  18-3 later that day.
