Volleyball Recap: Zeeland West Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Zeeland West proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Cedar Springs Red Hawks 2-1. For the Dux, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Red Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Zeeland West who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-6, 17-25, 25-15.

Jessie Teesdale and Kendall Fisk certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Teesdale had 20 assists and three digs, while Fisk had nine digs and six kills. Teesdale has been hot, having posted 15 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Zeeland West's victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Cedar Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-22-3 record this season.

Zeeland West will take on Holland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Springs, they will challenge Coopersville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
