Softball Recap: Mayer's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Mayer's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Valley Christian Academy Lions, sneaking past 18-17. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Raelynn Halterman, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Mayer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Valley Christian Academy struck out eight times.

The win snapped Mayer's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat North Valley Christian Academy by a score of 13-2 later that day.
