Basketball Recap: Rudyard Gets the Win

Rudyard pushed their score to 63 the last time they played Cheboygan, but on Thursday they couldn't quite do it again. The Rudyard Bulldogs escaped with a win against the Cheboygan Chiefs by the margin of a single free throw, 20-19. The 20-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Rudyard's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Cheboygan, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-1 record.

Rudyard won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Maplewood Baptist Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Cheboygan, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elk Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
