Preview: Custer/Hysham vs. Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades

Custer/Hysham has been on the road for nine straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Custer/Hysham is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Reed Point/Rapelje in Montana (Custer/Hysham is ranked 29th, while Reed Point/Rapelje is ranked 155th).

Last Friday, Custer/Hysham was able to grind out a solid victory over Broadview/Lavina, taking the game 52-40.

Meanwhile, Reed Point/Rapelje's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They fell just short of Plenty Coups by a score of 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Reed Point/Rapelje has suffered yet this season.

Reed Point/Rapelje's loss came about despite a quality game from Axel Blodgett, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blodgett has scored all season. Marshall Ulmer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Even though they lost, Reed Point/Rapelje were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Custer/Hysham's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Custer/Hysham strolled past Reed Point/Rapelje in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 61-43. Will Custer/Hysham repeat their success, or does Reed Point/Rapelje have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
